Description

If you would like to register please email manager@tisailing.org, space is being reserved for participating San Francisco Unified 5th Grade Teachers. All others wanting to join will be put on a waiting list and notified before February 28th.

Join us to explore how climate change is impacting the San Francisco Bay watershed from Sierra Crest to San Francisco Bay. In this workshop, we weave together NGSS and language learning priorities (CC) via proven strategies, resulting in a reduction of demands on teacher planning time, even as student engagement rises. Building on existing resources (Amplify) we shall focus on time-saving instructional strategies that support students as they move beyond academics to community-based action (advocacy). Participants get planning time on the second day to ensure that workshop tools can be immediately implemented in the service of student learning.

Weather permitting, we will sail on Keelboats (J24's) in the afternoon portion of the training.

  • Please dress warmly and in layers.
  • Activities will be indoor and outdoors.
  • Light Breakfast will be provided
  • Bring a reusable water bottle
