BK - Wkend 1
Saturday, Jun 1, 2019 (10:00 am - 4:00 pm)
Sunday, Jun 2, 2019 (10:00 am - 4:00 pm)
During the first weekend of our Basic Keelboat series students will work on building a solid foundation of sailing techniques. They will learn water safety, sailing terminology, sail trim, boat handling, and will get an introduction to the physics of sailing. Classroom time is devoted to understanding how a sailboat is propelled upwind. Other classroom topics include terminology, points of sail, and efficient sailing. Our goal is to get you out on the water as soon as possible.
This is a US Sailing Certificate Program, sign up for both Weekend 1 & 2 at the same time if you plan on completing the certificate. TISC will only issue US Sailing Books and Certificate if you sign up for both weekends.
Not required, but highly recommended that students sign up for consecutive weekends of the Basic Keelboat course in order to get the most out of your experience. Skills are progressive in nature and take time to master. Register for Weekend 1 before Weekend 2.
Minimum of 2 people for class to run
